I have been meaning to do more work on the challenges, but life kinda got in the way. I had to change the rear brakes on my mom's car (took all day since I needed to learn how to do it), and I finally set up the free fish tank I got... I like the way the fish tank came out, and the brakes gave me a nice sense of accomplishment (she now has a nice set of high performance rotors and pads for her "high performance" driving... I swear my mom is the only senior in FL driving like she was practicing for NASCAR!). There's still work to be done on both, but the majority of both projects are finished.
The fish tank is a 9g made-for-saltwater nano that I converted to freshwater (removed the skimmer and "dimmed" the lighting). It has a male betta (Mighty Mouse) and 11 little ghost shrimp friends. I still have some more planting to do, a bit more substrate to add, and eventually a few more fish to go with it. I missed having a "proper" fish tank (Mighty Mouse used to live in a tiny 1.5g that just didn't have the space for the planting I wanted). When we move back up north, I will resume my 55g tank. If we have our own house at the time, I also want to add a larger tank for more fun planting options. I would also like a saltwater tank some day, but I really need to brush up on my keeping skills for that. It's way too expensive to not know what I'm doing with it.
Anyway, I will upload a pic of the 9g here sometime in the near future (maybe do a progression of how it has evolved since last week). It might work for one of the challenges, lol!
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend & hope you have a great week!
